AI Visibility

Reading the Rankings page

Which brands AI systems name in your monitoring answers, in what position, and how Rankings differs from Competitors.

Last updated 11 days ago

The Rankings page under Scoreboard in the Sichtbarkeit (Visibility) sidebar group ranks every brand that AI systems name in their answers to your monitoring prompts. This article explains the columns, the position coverage chart, how to track discovered brands, and why the numbers can differ from the Competitors page.

What Rankings shows

KI Score uses AI to analyze your stored monitoring answers and picks out the brands they name, along with each brand’s position in the answer. Rankings sums up this analysis per brand for the website you currently have selected.

The Typ (Type) column shows which group a brand belongs to: Deine Brand (Your brand, meaning your own brand), Getrackt (Tracked, meaning your tracked competitors), or Entdeckt (Discovered, meaning brands the AI names that you don’t track). Your own brand is highlighted in the table.

Use the filters above the table to narrow the data:

  • Zeitraum (Date range): the last 90 days by default. In the calendar you can choose Letzte 7 Tage (Last 7 days), Letzte 14 Tage (Last 14 days), Letzte 30 Tage (Last 30 days), Gesamter Zeitraum (All time), or your own range instead, and confirm with Übernehmen (Apply).
  • + Filter: Modell (Model) and Prompt narrow down the analyzed answers. Typ (Type) shows only brands from the groups you pick, for example only Deine Brand and Getrackt. Without a type filter, all three groups appear.

Only answers the AI analysis has already processed count toward Rankings. If the analysis is still missing for some answers in the period, a notice above the table reads, for example, “12 von 15 Antworten mit der aktuellen KI-Auswertung analysiert” (12 of 15 answers analysed with the current AI evaluation). KI Score catches up on missing and outdated analyses automatically.

Mention rate, average position, and position coverage

  • Nennungsrate (Brand mention rate): the share of analyzed answers in which the AI analysis named the brand as a provider. This value is not weighted by question intent.
  • Ø Position (Average position): the brand’s average position in the answers that name it. A lower value means the brand comes up earlier. If an answer names the same brand more than once, its first mention counts. Hover over the value to see how many brands an answer names on average.
  • Positionsabdeckung (Position coverage): the average of 1/position across all analyzed answers. An answer that doesn’t name the brand counts as 0. A brand listed first in every answer reaches 100%.
  • Trend: a small chart of position coverage per week.

The table is sorted by position coverage, with ties broken by mention rate. Equal values share a rank. The # column shows the rank among all brands named, including those that aren’t displayed. Rankings shows at most the 10 strongest discovered brands, so the ranking can have gaps, for example when your brand is ranked 35th. This also applies when you use the Typ filter to show only some of the brands.

Position coverage over time

The Positionsabdeckung (Position coverage) card above the table shows position coverage per calendar week: the average of 1/position across all analyzed answers from that week, with answers that don’t name the brand counting as 0. Higher is better. Your own brand appears as a thicker line, alongside up to five other brands in table order. A Typ filter you set applies to the chart too. When you hover over a row in the table, the chart highlights that brand’s line.

The chart needs at least two calendar weeks with analyzed answers. Until then, the card shows “Noch kein Verlauf” (No history yet). The chart covers the last 26 weeks at most.

Tracking discovered brands directly

Discovered brands are brands the AI names in your answers that you don’t track as competitors yet. To turn one into a competitor:

  1. Open Rankings. If the Typ filter is set, it has to include Entdeckt.
  2. Click Tracken (Track) in the row of a brand of type Entdeckt.

KI Score creates the competitor right away, but with its name only. The row then switches to the Getrackt type. Add the domain and aliases afterward under Competitors.

Note: Rankings is calculated with your current competitor list every time it loads. A newly tracked competitor is therefore listed as tracked in answers that were analyzed earlier, too.

Why Rankings and Competitors differ

Rankings and Competitors measure the same answers in different ways:

  • Rankings uses the AI analysis of the answers and follows the time period you choose.
  • Competitors searches the answer text for the names and aliases of your brand and your competitors, and looks at the last 30 days, or at the Scoreboard’s period when you arrive through a link from there.

As a result, the brand mention rate under Rankings and the mention rate under Competitors can differ for the same brand, even for the same time period.

Rankings is also not the KI Score market comparison. Rankings is based solely on your own monitoring prompts. The KI Score measures all brands in a market with the same question set.
