How often should you check your KI Score?

The KI Score is measured weekly, or monthly on Essential. Here's how to find a sensible rhythm for checking your score.

Last updated 23 days ago

The KI Score isn't updated continuously. It's measured at fixed intervals. This article explains how often a new score is produced, how to tell a real change from noise, and what checking rhythm makes sense as a result.

How often the KI Score is measured

KI Score measures each market centrally, using the same questions for every brand. How often that happens depends on your plan:

  • Advanced, Premium, and Enterprise: once a week
  • Essential: once a month, in the first measurement week of the month

If a customer with weekly measurement uses the same market as you, that market is measured weekly, even if you're on Essential.

A measurement starts on Monday from 3:00 a.m. (Berlin time) and queries the AI providers on two days: Monday and, three days later, Thursday. A new score is only produced once both days are complete and evaluated.

The KI Score you see is also an average of the scored measurements from the last three calendar weeks, meaning the current week and the two before it. With weekly measurement, this smooths out outliers from individual weeks. On Essential, that window contains only one measurement, so the score is effectively unsmoothed.

Why checking daily doesn't help much

There's no new KI Score between two measurements. If you look at the KI Score page every day, you'll usually see the same score as the day before.

Even after a new measurement, the score only moves gradually, because a single week goes into the three-week average. With weekly measurement, a lasting change in your visibility is therefore only fully reflected in the score after about three measurements.

Extra monitoring runs don't change this. Your own prompts don't feed into the KI Score.

Reading the sidebar and “Veränderung”

Two places show your KI Score, but only one tells you whether it has moved.

  • Sidebar: Next to KI-Score, you'll see the score for your primary market, without a trend icon. It's a quick glance, not a statement about a change.
  • KI Score page: In the Marktvergleich (market comparison) widget, the Veränderung (change) column only shows ▲ or ▼ when the confidence interval of the change excludes 0. Otherwise it only shows the measured difference, in gray and without an arrow. That difference lies within the measurement noise and isn't a clear change. Kalibrierung ausstehend (calibration pending) appears while there aren't enough measurements yet for a confidence interval. Your own brand is marked Du (you) in the table.

So only the Veränderung column tells you whether your score has clearly changed.

A sensible checking rhythm

  • Weekly measurement: Check once a week, ideally after the measurement is complete, toward the end of the measurement week or at the start of the following week.
  • Monthly measurement (Essential): Checking once a month is enough, as soon as the measurement in the first measurement week is complete. The Veränderung column needs three measurements before it can make a clear statement. On Essential, that takes about three months.
  • Longer-term development: Assess your score across several measurements in the KI-Score im Zeitverlauf (KI Score over time) widget instead of reacting to individual swings.

Reviewing monitoring results more often

If you want to see at shorter intervals how AI systems answer questions about your topics, monitoring is the right tool. It queries your own prompts on your own schedule: daily, weekly, or monthly. Each run costs credits, calculated as active prompts × selected AI providers. A daily schedule adds up to about 30 runs a month, and a weekly one to 4 or 5, depending on the month.

To set how often your monitoring runs:

  1. Select the website at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Click Zeitplan (schedule) in the sidebar.
  3. Turn on Automatisch messen (measure automatically) if the switch is off.
  4. Under Häufigkeit (frequency), choose Täglich (daily), Wöchentlich (weekly), or Monatlich (monthly).
  5. Click Zeitplan speichern (save schedule). The confirmation dialog shows how many credits one measurement costs and roughly how many you'll use per month.
  6. Confirm with Kostenlos speichern (save for free).

Tip: A more frequent schedule only pays off if you actually review the extra results. You only get more credits with a new billing period or a larger plan.
