Understanding changes since your last readiness analysis

Why KI-Readiness doesn't show a before-and-after comparison, how you can still trace changes between two analyses, and what to keep in mind when you do.

Last updated 23 days ago

After you change something on your website, you want to know whether your KI-Readiness results have improved. This article explains what the page shows for this, how to record the state before a change, and when to read a result with caution.

The page always shows the latest analysis

The KI-Readiness page shows the latest completed analysis of the selected website. KI Score currently doesn't offer a before-and-after comparison with the previous analysis, a list of older analyses, or a file export of KI-Readiness.

While a new analysis is running, the notice Neue Analyse läuft (New analysis running) appears and the previous result stays visible. As soon as the new analysis is complete, its result replaces what's shown. After that, you can't bring up the earlier state in the dashboard again. A readiness analysis doesn't cost any credits.

Recording the state before a change

Save the open items before you run a new analysis:

  1. Select the website at the top of the sidebar.
  2. In the sidebar, under Optimierung (Optimization), open KI-Readiness and then the Nächste Schritte (Next steps) tab.
  3. Click Fix-Prompt kopieren (Copy fix prompt) and save the text, for example in your ticket. It contains all open items with their finding, where they were found, and the recommendation, plus the methodology version of the analysis.
  4. If needed, note the number of open items on the tab and, under Inhalt & Struktur (Content & structure), the line “… von … Prüfungen bestanden” (… of … checks passed).

Once you've made your change, start a new analysis with Neu analysieren (Run a new analysis) next to the page title and wait until it's complete.

Comparing after the new analysis

Put your saved state next to the new result:

  • Nächste Schritte: If an item that was open before is missing, the check has now passed or couldn't be rated this time. You can see which applies under Alle Prüfungen (All checks). New items in the list have been open since the last analysis.
  • Alle Prüfungen: the status and finding of every check. Click a row to see the result on each checked page.
  • Geprüfte Seiten (Checked pages): the result per page, if you want to know on which page a check now passes or fails.
  • KI-Crawler (AI crawlers): whether the permissions in your robots.txt have changed.

When results aren't comparable

Two analyses can only be compared meaningfully if the basis hasn't changed:

  • Methodology: KI Score keeps developing its checks. Since methodology 3.8, for example, Lesbares HTML (Readable HTML) and Canonical URL apply to every checked page, not just the homepage. Results from different methodology versions therefore aren't directly comparable. The version is included in the copied fix prompt.
  • Page selection: With Automatisch (Automatic), each analysis picks the content pages anew. If the pages change, the results of the page-level checks change too. For a clean comparison, set the pages under Seitenauswahl (Page selection) with Eigene Auswahl (Custom selection).
  • Website URL: If the website's address has changed, the new analysis checks a different website.
  • Verlässlichkeit der Messung (Measurement reliability): If this bonus signal reports rejected requests, for example by bot protection, the findings for those addresses are uncertain.

What a change doesn't prove

A difference between two analyses shows that a rating has changed, not why. An item that has since passed doesn't prove that your latest change was the cause. A new open item doesn't prove that you did something wrong. Check the cause yourself, for example using the findings or the verification command that many items under Nächste Schritte include.

KI-Readiness also measures your website's technical readability, not your visibility in AI answers. Fewer open items therefore don't automatically mean that AI systems mention your brand more often. KI-Readiness doesn't feed into your KI Score either.
