Placing your KI Score in the market comparison
How to read the market comparison, Share of AI Voice, and rank history, and why they list different brands than Competitors.

A KI Score only means something once you compare it. This article explains how to read the comparison views on the KI Score page: the market comparison, Share of AI Voice, rank history, and the trend widgets. To open the page, select KI-Score in the Sichtbarkeit (Visibility) group of the sidebar.
The market comparison
The Marktvergleich (market comparison) widget lists every scored brand in your market. All brands were measured with the same questions, by the same AI providers, in the same measurement week. The table has these columns:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| # | The brand's rank in this market, with the small range next to it where the rank can lie given normal measurement fluctuation |
| Marke (brand) | The brand name. Your own brand carries the Du (you) badge. |
| KI-Score (geglättet) (KI Score, smoothed) | The displayed KI Score from 0 to 100 |
| Veränderung (change) | Whether the value has clearly changed: ▲ or ▼ with a value, a gray number without an arrow for no clear change, Kalibrierung ausstehend (calibration pending), neu (new), or wieder genannt (named again) |
| Erwähnungsrate (letzte Messung) (mention rate, latest measurement) | The intent-weighted share of answers in the latest measurement that name the brand |
The KI Score and rank are smoothed, while the mention rate comes from the latest measurement only. A brand can therefore have a KI Score above 0 even though it wasn't named in that measurement.
When there are many brands, the table first shows the top 10 brands and the brands directly above and below your own. Use Alle anzeigen (show all) to display the full list. Use the Marke (brand) search field to find a particular brand. If your tracked competitors are among them, use + Filter and Marken (brands) to show only Getrackt (tracked) or only Entdeckt (discovered) brands. Your own brand always stays visible.
A KI Score and a rank only apply within this one market. You can't compare values from different markets directly or combine them.
Why it lists different brands than Competitors
The market comparison automatically includes every brand that appears in the answers from the market measurement. The KI Score team maintains the brand list for the KI Score centrally.
The competitors you track under Competitors and their aliases don't determine which brands appear in the market comparison or how they're measured. In the market comparison, they only serve the Marken filter. So a brand you track may be missing from the market comparison, and the comparison may include brands you never added as competitors.
Share of AI Voice
Share of AI Voice shows how many of the brand mentions in your market go to a brand. It's based on the intent-weighted mention rate. If an answer names the same brand several times, it counts once. All shares add up to 100%.
The Share of AI Voice widget shows the distribution as a donut chart with a legend:
- Up to four brands appear by name, ordered by their share.
- Your own brand is always among them, marked “· Du” (you). If it isn't among the four largest shares, it takes the fourth spot.
- All remaining brands are grouped under Weitere (others).
The mention rate tells you how often your brand is named at all. Share of AI Voice tells you how big your slice is relative to the other brands.
Rank history
The Rangentwicklung (rank history) widget shows your placement across the scored measurement weeks. In the chart, higher is better. Above the chart you see your current rank, for example “Platz 4 von 19 (Rang 3–5)” (place 4 of 19, rank 3–5):
- Platz 4 von 19 gives your rank and the number of ranked brands.
- Rang 3–5 is the range your rank plausibly falls within once measurement uncertainty is taken into account. If the range covers only one place, this addition is left out.
The rank is based on the displayed KI Score, which is smoothed over up to three measurement cycles: up to three weeks with weekly measurement, up to three months with monthly measurement. Brands with the same value share a rank. Measurement weeks that weren't scored appear as gaps.
Average or individual brands
The KI-Score im Zeitverlauf (KI Score over time) and Erwähnungsrate im Zeitverlauf (mention rate over time) widgets compare your brand with the other brands in the market. At the bottom of each widget, choose a view:
- Durchschnitt (average) shows your brand next to the Ø aktuelle Wettbewerber (average of current competitors) series, the average of the other brands in the current market comparison.
- Einzelne (individual) shows your brand next to selected brands. Use Wettbewerber auswählen (select competitors) to choose which brands appear. The number in parentheses shows how many are selected.
“Competitors” here means the other brands in the market, not your list under Competitors. Your selection only applies to the widget you make it in. The KI Score page has no time period filter.
Exporting the market comparison
- In the sidebar, select KI-Score in the Sichtbarkeit (Visibility) group.
- On the tab for the market you want, click the small arrow next to the market name.
- Select Exportieren (export).
You get the file marktvergleich-YYYY-MM-DD.csv with the columns Rang (rank), Marke (brand), KI-Score, Share of AI Voice, and Erwähnungsrate (mention rate). It contains every brand in the market comparison, including those currently hidden. Your own brand is marked “(Du)”. As long as a market has no scored brands yet, Exportieren isn't available.
If you export several markets, you get a separate file for each. Don't add up values from different markets, because they're based on different question sets.
What teams say about KI Score

“The score finally gave us one number the whole team actually understands.”
“Instead of guessing which prompts matter, we now have real data.”
“Within the first week we already saw which competitor was beating us in AI answers.”
“Setup took one afternoon, not weeks of onboarding.”
“Finally a tool that takes AI Overviews as seriously as classic SEO.”
