Building a work plan from readiness findings
How the “Nächste Schritte” list in KI-Readiness is sorted and how to turn it into a task list for your team.
Last updated 23 days ago
KI-Readiness checks whether AI systems can fetch, read, and cite your website. This article explains how the Nächste Schritte (Next steps) section orders its open items and how to turn them into a work plan for your team.
Note: KI Score has no project or task module. You can’t assign tasks, set due dates, or track them on a board in the dashboard. The Nächste Schritte list is your starting point; keep the actual work plan in the tool your team already uses.
How the next steps are ordered
You’ll find the open items in the sidebar under Optimierung → KI-Readiness (Optimization → KI-Readiness), on the Nächste Schritte tab. The card on that tab lists every open, scored check from the latest analysis. The tab and the top of the card show how many items are open; the card says, for example, “3 offen” (3 open).
The list is sorted by three rules, in this order of precedence:
- Status: Items marked “Nicht bestanden” (Failed) come before items marked “Optimieren” (Optimize).
- Tier: Within the same status, “Essenziell” (Essential) comes before “Empfohlen” (Recommended).
- Gap: After that, it’s about how much a check is missing from a full result. The largest gap comes first.
The card’s subtitle reads “Essenzielle Punkte zuerst — sie entscheiden, ob KI-Antworten die Website überhaupt zitieren können.” (Essential items first — they decide whether AI answers can cite the website at all.) That’s a simplification: because status is sorted first, a failed recommended item appears above an essential item that only shows “Optimieren”.
Essential, recommended, and bonus
Every check belongs to a tier:
| Tier | In next steps |
|---|---|
| Essenziell (Essential) | yes |
| Empfohlen (Recommended) | yes |
| Bonus | no |
Bonus checks don’t count toward the rating, so they never show up as open tasks. They appear on the Inhalt & Struktur (Content & structure) tab in their own collapsible card, Bonus-Signale (Bonus signals). For your work plan, that means: schedule essential items first, treat recommended items as the next wave, and consider bonus signals optional.
Deriving technical tasks
The titles in Nächste Schritte are already phrased as tasks, for example “Sichtbarkeits-Crawler freigeben” (Allow visibility crawlers) or “Echte 404-Antworten liefern” (Return real 404 responses). Each title is followed by the finding, the affected pages, and, where available, a recommendation. Many items also show a check command your team can use to reproduce the finding. The status and Fix kopieren (Copy fix) appear next to it.
To move the list into your work plan:
- Open KI-Readiness in the sidebar and switch to the Nächste Schritte tab at the top.
- Go through the list from top to bottom.
- Click Fix kopieren for each item. This copies the check’s name, its tier, the finding, the locations, and, if available, the recommendation and the AI models whose providers require the check.
- Paste the text as a separate task into your team’s ticketing or project tool.
- Use the list’s order as the priority.
To hand over all open items at once, use Fix-Prompt kopieren (Copy fix prompt) at the top of the card. It bundles every open item into a ready-made brief for a language model, in the same order as the list.
Tip: KI-Readiness has no file export. The two copy buttons are the intended way to hand things over.
When nothing is left open
Once every scored check passes, the card shows “Keine offenen technischen Aufgaben” (No open technical tasks) with the line “Alle Prüfungen dieser Analyse wurden bestanden.” (All checks in this analysis passed.) The bonus signals may still show inactive entries. They are never required.
Checking progress with a new analysis
Only a new analysis shows whether the completed tasks had an effect. KI-Readiness doesn’t use any credits.
- Open KI-Readiness after your team has published its changes.
- Click Neu analysieren (Analyze again) at the top right.
- Wait until the analysis is complete.
- Review the Nächste Schritte tab. Resolved items have disappeared, and newly found ones are added.
- Remove resolved items from your work plan and add the new ones.
KI-Readiness doesn’t show a comparison with the previous analysis, so record the state before the changes in your work plan. If you’ve reworked specific pages, add them to the analysis with Seitenauswahl (Page selection). Also keep in mind that better KI-Readiness doesn’t raise your KI Score directly. The KI Score measures mentions in AI answers; KI-Readiness only covers the technical prerequisites for them.
