Distributing markets across client websites

How your market allowance is shared across all websites in a workspace, and what applies when you swap markets.

Last updated 23 days ago

If you manage several client websites in one workspace, all of them share a single market allowance. This article explains how KI Score counts the slots, which markets take priority when slots run short, and what applies when you replace a market.

One allowance for the whole workspace

A market is the combination of one service and one region, for example “Parfümerien × Deutschland” (perfumeries × Germany). How many markets you get depends on your plan. The allowance applies to the workspace as a whole, not to each website:

Plan Websites Markets per workspace
Essential 1 1
Advanced 2 2
Premium 5 5
Enterprise Unlimited unless otherwise agreed Unlimited

You can distribute your markets freely across your websites. On the Premium plan, for example, you can measure one website in five markets or five websites in one market each. The KI Score measurement itself doesn’t use any credits.

To see how many slots are in use:

  1. In the sidebar, open Einstellungen → Billing (Settings → Billing).
  2. Hover over the info icon next to your plan’s name.
  3. In the tooltip text, find “Märkte im Workspace” (markets in the workspace), for example “3 von 5” (3 of 5).

KI Score also shows usage when you add a market: the Markt hinzufügen? (Add market?) dialog tells you how many markets will be in use in the workspace afterward.

Primary markets take priority

Every website has a primary market. It’s the market with the Vergleichsmarkt (comparison market) badge, whose KI Score appears in the sidebar next to KI-Score. Any other markets for a website are labeled “Weiterer Markt” (additional market) on the KI Score page.

If your allowance doesn’t cover every market in the workspace, markets already measured in the current month keep their slot until the end of the month. After that, primary markets are included first. Additional markets beyond the allowance are locked. In the list under Märkte (Markets), they then show the status Nicht im Kontingent (not in the allowance), and the KI Score page shows “Marktkontingent ausgeschöpft” (market allowance used up) on the affected market. The history of these markets is kept.

Tip: When you work with several clients, plan a primary market for each website first. Then assign additional markets to the clients where a second comparison adds the most value.

Identical markets count once

If several websites in your workspace use the same combination of service and region, that market takes up only one slot. For example, if you manage two perfumery clients that are both measured in “Parfümerien × Deutschland,” that counts as one market. Both brands are then measured in the same market comparison.

Swapping markets and the end of the month

Once a market has been measured in a calendar month, it keeps its slot until the end of that month (Berlin time). This applies even if you remove the market or the entire website before then. When you replace a market:

  • Free slots can be assigned to a new market right away.
  • If your allowance is used up, a replacement market is scheduled for the next month. After you add it, KI Score shows the date from which the market is scheduled.
  • If you change the market profile of a market that has already been measured, you’ll see “Marktwechsel vorgemerkt” (market change scheduled) along with the date. Until then, the current market stays in effect. Making a new selection replaces the scheduled change, and Vormerkung aufheben (cancel scheduled change) withdraws it.

Saving doesn’t trigger an extra measurement right away. New markets are measured in the next regular measurement window. Markets that KI Score has never measured before are first reviewed and approved by the KI Score team. The history of a replaced market is kept and isn’t mixed with the new market.

If you need more markets on a lasting basis, choose a plan with a larger allowance under Einstellungen → Billing. Only the main account can change the plan. You’ll find the plans on the plans page.
