Upgrading or downgrading your plan
How to switch plans in the Stripe customer portal and what an upgrade or downgrade means for credits, websites, AI providers, markets, team seats, reports, Whitelabel, and MCP servers.
Last updated 9 days ago
You can switch between the Essential, Advanced, and Premium plans yourself at any time. This article shows where to start the switch, when it takes effect, and what happens to your credits, websites, AI providers, markets, team seats, reports, Whitelabel, and MCP servers afterward.
Switching plans in the Stripe portal
Plan changes go through the Stripe customer portal. Only the main account, the account that owns the subscription and billing, can open it.
- In the dashboard, open Einstellungen → Billing (Settings → Billing).
- In the card for your current plan, click Abrechnung verwalten (Manage billing) in the top-right corner.
- Select the new plan in the Stripe customer portal.
- Confirm the change in the portal.
When you leave the portal, you return to the profile page in the dashboard.
The portal only offers Essential, Advanced, and Premium. Enterprise is managed personally: to move to Enterprise, contact sales at sales@kiscore.ai. If you already have an Enterprise contract, Abrechnung verwalten opens an email to that address instead of the portal. You can find current prices on the plans page.
In the portal, you can also switch between monthly and yearly billing. The monthly rate on the plans page applies with yearly billing: Essential €39 per month (€468 a year), Advanced €170 per month (€2,040 a year), Premium €390 per month (€4,680 a year). With monthly billing, the plan costs €45, €195, or €450 a month. Credits and all other allowances stay the same per month on a yearly plan.
Note: If you are still on an older plan such as Pro (Legacy), your existing allowances carry over when the subscription renews. Once you change plans, the allowances of the new plan apply.
Upgrades: immediate and prorated
Moving to a larger plan takes effect immediately.
- Stripe invoices you right away for a prorated amount covering the rest of the current billing period.
- The difference between the credits of your old and new plan is added to your balance immediately.
- The higher limits for websites, markets, AI providers, team seats, reports, and MCP servers, as well as Whitelabel, are available as soon as you switch. Seats, reports, delivery schedules, and servers that rested after an earlier downgrade are active again right away.
Upgrading is the only way to get more credits within a running billing period. Credits cannot be purchased.
Note: If you switch plans during the free trial, the trial ends with the switch.
Downgrades: at the end of the billing period
Moving to a smaller plan only takes effect at the end of the current billing period, on a yearly plan at the end of the subscription year. Until then, you keep using your current plan as before.
Credits you have already been granted remain available for the current period, and none are taken back. From the next period on, you receive the credit allowance of the smaller plan. As always, unused plan credits expire at the end of the period.
What happens to websites, AI providers, markets, and team features
After a downgrade, the smaller limits of the new plan apply. KI Score doesn’t delete anything, but it only measures within those limits. Whatever is above the new limit rests. Before you switch, the Plan & Credits dialog lists what is affected under “Beim Wechsel ruht:” (After switching, the following rests:), with the note “Nichts wird gelöscht. Ein Upgrade aktiviert alles sofort wieder.” (Nothing is deleted. An upgrade reactivates everything right away.)
| Area | What happens after the downgrade |
|---|---|
| Websites | If you are over the new website limit, only the oldest websites in your workspace keep being measured. Scheduled monitoring runs for the others are skipped, and you don’t receive an email about it. |
| AI providers | A run only queries as many AI providers as your plan allows, taking the first ones from your saved selection. The selection itself stays saved and is used in full again if you upgrade later. |
| Markets | Markets beyond your market allowance are locked and show the status “Im Tarif gesperrt” (locked on your plan). Primary markets take priority. The history of locked markets is kept. |
| Team seats | If the workspace has more members than the new plan has seats, the members who were invited first keep their seat, and the others rest. They see “Dein Zugang ruht” (Your access is resting) in the dashboard and can only reach their account. Access limited to specific websites stays frozen below Premium and can only be removed or extended to the whole workspace; a custom role stays assigned below Enterprise until a standard role replaces it. The end of an Enterprise contract doesn’t remove any members either. |
| Reports | Reports above the new limit rest: they can be read and deleted, but not edited or sent. A weekly delivery schedule only sends again on Essential after an upgrade. |
| Whitelabel | Below Premium, reports, links, PDFs, and emails appear in the KI Score branding. Your logo and sender name stay saved. |
| MCP servers | Servers above the new limit rest and aren’t available to Tactics AI; the servers connected first keep priority. Below Premium, Tactics AI doesn’t use connected servers at all; saved servers are kept. |
Before downgrading, check which websites and markets you want to keep measuring and which members, reports, and MCP servers should stay active.
