Understanding checked pages in KI-Readiness
Which pages the KI-Readiness check covers, how to choose them yourself, and how to read the per-page results for content criteria such as structure, date signal, and evidence.
Last updated 23 days ago
AI answers mostly cite content pages such as guides, blog posts, or service descriptions, and rarely the homepage. That's why the KI-Readiness check looks at up to ten more pages of your website in addition to the homepage. This article explains how these pages are chosen, how you can choose them yourself, and how to read the Geprüfte Seiten (Checked pages) section.
You'll find the section on the KI-Readiness page, in the Optimierung (Optimization) sidebar group, on the Inhalt & Struktur (Content & structure) tab, below Alle Prüfungen (All checks) and Bonus-Signale (Bonus signals). It expands when you click it. When expanded, a badge shows how many pages were checked, for example “7 von bis zu 10” (7 of up to 10), next to how many pages have no open findings.
How the pages are chosen
KI Score always checks your homepage. For the other pages, there are two ways:
- Automatisch (Automatic): With every analysis, KI Score picks up to ten pages from your sitemap. Service pages come first, whose path contains something like “leistungen”, “service”, or “produkte”, then other content paths such as “blog”, “ratgeber”, “faq”, “wissen”, or “hilfe”, then the remaining addresses. Within each group, the ones with the most recent change date (lastmod) come first. If your sitemap is a sitemap index, KI Score follows it one level down. If the sitemap has no suitable candidates, KI Score uses content links found on your homepage.
- Eigene Auswahl (Custom selection): You set up to ten pages yourself, for example your services.
The automatic selection skips pages such as the legal notice, privacy policy, contact, terms, login, cart, checkout, or customer account, and the homepage itself. Above the list of pages, the section states which source the selection came from, and for a sitemap, also how many pages it lists and how many of them were checked. If KI Score finds no suitable pages in either the sitemap or the homepage links, the section says so.
Choosing the pages yourself
- At the top of the KI-Readiness page, click Seitenauswahl (Page selection), or click Seiten anpassen (Adjust pages) in the Geprüfte Seiten section.
- Select Eigene Auswahl.
- Enter one page per field, as a path such as /services or as a full URL of your website. Use Seite hinzufügen (Add page) to add more fields.
- Click Übernehmen und analysieren (Apply and analyze).
With Auswahl übernehmen (Apply selection), the selection only takes effect with the next analysis. Until then, the section shows the notice Neue Auswahl vorgemerkt (New selection scheduled) with a Jetzt analysieren (Analyze now) button. Select Automatisch to return to the automatic selection. Earlier analyses stay unchanged.
The result for each page
Each checked page has its own row in the list, starting with the homepage. Next to it, you'll see Vollständig (Complete) if the page passes all of its checks, or otherwise the number of open findings, for example “2 offen” (2 open). The row also names the open checks. Bonus signals don't count here.
When expanded, a page shows:
- its address and fetch status: Erfolgreich abgerufen (fetched successfully), Abruf fehlgeschlagen (fetch failed), or Abrufstatus unbekannt (fetch status unknown), with the HTTP status code where available. If a page couldn't be fetched, that isn't a negative result for its content.
- the page title and the headings that were captured
- each check with its status, open ones first: Lesbares HTML (Readable HTML), Indexierung erlaubt (Indexing allowed), Snippet-Freigabe (Snippets allowed), Seitentitel (Page title), Meta-Beschreibung (Meta description), H1-Überschrift (H1 heading), Überschriften-Gliederung (Heading structure), Semantisches HTML (Semantic HTML), Strukturierte Daten (Structured data), Inhaltstragende Schema-Typen (Content schema types), Bildbeschreibungen (Image descriptions), and Canonical URL
- for content pages, the five content criteria as well
The content criteria for each page
KI Score rates five criteria for each content page. Each one shows Bestanden (Passed) or Optimieren (Optimize).
| Criterion | Passed when … |
|---|---|
| Zitierfähige Gliederung (Citable structure) | the page has at least 800 visible characters and at least two H2 headings |
| Datumssignal (Date signal) | the page contains a machine-readable date, such as a publication or modification date in structured data |
| Belege (Evidence) | at least one condition applies: three numeric figures, two links to external websites, or a quote element |
| Fragen und Antworten (Questions and answers) | at least one subheading (H2 to H4) is phrased as a question, meaning it ends with a question mark |
| Listen und Tabellen (Lists and tables) | the main content contains at least one list with two or more items or a table with at least two rows. Lists in the navigation, header, footer, and sidebars don't count. |
Numeric figures are percentages, years, and amounts of money. A quote element is a passage marked up as a quotation in the HTML, for example a block quote.
What this means for your website's rating
Under Alle Prüfungen, a page-level check such as Indexierung erlaubt or Canonical URL only counts as passed if it passes on the homepage and on every page in the selection that could be fetched. The content checks Zitierfähige Content-Seite (Citable content page), Frische-Signale im Content (Freshness signals in content), Belege im Content (Evidence in content), Fragen und Antworten (Questions and answers), and Listen und Tabellen (Lists and tables) must be met on every content page that could be fetched. If a page fails, the finding reads “Nicht auf allen geprüften Seiten erfüllt” (Not met on all checked pages) or “Nicht auf allen Content-Seiten erfüllt” (Not met on all content pages). When you expand the check, it names the affected pages. If no content page could be fetched, your homepage can count for the structure criterion.
Technical details for each page
Under Technische Details (Technical details), you'll see the measurements behind the content criteria:
- Sichtbare Zeichen (visible characters), H2-Überschriften (H2 headings), and H3-Überschriften (H3 headings)
- Zahlen-Angaben (numeric figures) and Externe Quellenlinks (external source links)
- Datumssignal (date signal) and Zitat-Element (quote element), each shown as “Vorhanden” (present) or “Nicht gefunden” (not found)
- Content-Schema, meaning whether the page contains structured data of a content type such as Article, FAQPage, or HowTo
- Neuestes Schema-Datum (newest schema date) from the structured data
Values that weren't captured during the analysis appear as “Nicht erfasst” (not captured).
Note: Some older analyses checked at most three pages or don't include results per check yet. The section then points this out or shows “Für diese Analyse nicht verfügbar” (not available for this analysis). Checks that an analysis didn't store aren't a negative result. A new analysis evaluates the pages using the current methodology.
What the check doesn't tell you
- Not every page: The check covers your homepage and up to ten more pages. A criterion that's met doesn't automatically apply to every page on your website.
- Not age or accuracy: The date signal only shows whether a machine-readable date is present. It doesn't check how old or how accurate the content actually is.
- Not visibility: KI-Readiness is a technical check and doesn't feed into the KI Score. To see whether AI answers actually cite a page, use Sources.
- No page report: KI Score doesn't offer a performance report for individual pages. The Geprüfte Seiten section also has no file export.
