Editing, pausing, or deleting prompts

What happens to earlier answers when you edit a prompt, and why pausing is often a better choice than deleting.

Last updated 23 days ago

You can reword a prompt at any time, stop it for a while, or remove it entirely. This article shows how to do each of these under Prompts and what happens to the answers collected so far.

Editing a prompt

  1. Select the website at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Open Prompts in the sidebar.
  3. In the prompt's row, click the three-dot menu.
  4. Choose Bearbeiten (Edit). The Prompt bearbeiten (Edit prompt) editor opens.
  5. Change the Prompt-Text (prompt text), the Thema (topic), or the Tags.
  6. Click Änderungen speichern (Save changes).

Whether a prompt counts as branded or non-branded isn't set in the editor. Instead, click the prompt's Tags column and set it in the Prompt-Tags bearbeiten (Edit prompt tags) dialog. The editor has no delete button; use the row menu for that (see below).

Earlier wordings

If you change the text of a prompt that already has answers, those answers aren't lost. They stay attached to the prompt and from then on count as an earlier version. The editor points this out when you change the text.

To see a prompt's wordings:

  1. Under Prompts, click the prompt's row in the table. The detail view opens.
  2. Look at the Formulierungen (Wordings) card. It lists the current text first, followed by earlier versions.

Keep in mind that the metrics of an edited prompt include the answers from all its wordings within the selected time period. If you change the question substantially, old and new results get mixed. For a genuinely new question, a new prompt is often the cleaner choice.

Pausing and resuming

A paused prompt isn't queried during monitoring runs, so it doesn't use any credits. All of its existing answers are kept. In the table, it carries the “Pausiert” (Paused) badge.

To pause a single prompt:

  1. In the prompt's row, click the three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Pausieren (Pause).

To start measuring it again, choose Fortsetzen (Resume) in the same menu. The same button also appears at the top of the editor, next to the title. It takes effect immediately, without saving.

To pause several prompts at once:

  1. Check the boxes next to the prompts you want in the table.
  2. In the bar that appears at the bottom center, click Pausieren or Fortsetzen.

Note: By default, the table only shows active prompts, as indicated by the “Aktiv” (Active) filter in the filter bar. To see paused prompts, choose “Pausiert” (Paused) under Prompt-Status via + Filter. If you remove the filter, the table shows all prompts.

Deleting is permanent

When you delete a prompt, KI Score removes it permanently, together with all of its answers. This can't be undone. If you want to keep the answers, pause the prompt instead.

  1. In the prompt's row, click the three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Löschen (Delete).
  3. Confirm in the dialog with Prompt löschen (Delete prompt).

To delete several prompts, select them in the table and click Löschen in the bar at the bottom. Here, too, a dialog asks you to confirm.
