The source list is where the investigation begins

An answer lists five links: a manufacturer, two comparison sites, a forum and an older article. Ranking the domains would be quick. It would not yet provide an editorial assignment.

What should the page support?

Read the statement associated with the source first. Is it about a price, feature or recommendation? Open the page and find that exact claim, including its date and conditions.

An answer quoting a monthly price from a source describing an annual contract has introduced a specific discrepancy. A review of an old product version needs context before it describes the current offer.

Record the claim, location, date and unresolved question. Those notes will be more useful later than a screenshot circling a competitor’s name.

Separate the domain from the page

A frequently cited domain may contain many kinds of material. An actionable finding needs the specific URL. A provider profile, product review and editorial comparison call for different follow-up work.

KI Score’s Sources section offers separate domain and page views. The default third-party filter excludes your domain and tracked competitors. Remove it when the company website needs to be included in the review.

Which findings become tasks?

Start with verifiable errors: an obsolete address, incorrect contract term or discontinued feature. The responsible team can correct the company website directly. For an independent source, first establish whether the information is wrong or simply reflects a different assessment.

An unfavourable review is not a data error. A competitor being mentioned does not itself justify a correction request. Source analysis should support factual work while respecting editorial independence.

After a correction, preserve the original finding and date. Later answers can then be checked for the same outdated information. If the source changes, the investigation moves to the new page.
