How does the free trial work?
How the 30-day Essential trial works, who can use it, and what happens when it ends or when you switch plans.
Last updated 9 days ago
KI Score offers a free 30-day trial of the Essential plan. This article explains who can use it, what it includes, and what happens when it ends or when you switch plans.
Who can use the trial
The trial is available only for Essential. Advanced, Premium, and Enterprise don’t include a free trial. It applies on monthly and yearly billing alike.
You can use the trial if both of these are true:
- You haven’t used a trial before. Each account gets it only once.
- Your account doesn’t have a subscription yet.
The plan selection shows whether you qualify. If you do, the Essential plan card carries the badge 30 Tage kostenlos (30 days free) and the button reads Kostenlos starten (Start for free). If you no longer qualify, the button reads Starten (Start), and the plan is paid from day one.
To start the trial:
- Open the plan selection during onboarding.
- On the Essential plan card, click Kostenlos starten.
- Add a payment card in the Stripe checkout.
- Complete the order.
Why a card is required
A payment card is mandatory at checkout for the trial. You can’t start the trial without one. The card lets your subscription continue without interruption after the 30 days, unless you cancel before then.
What’s included
During the trial, you use KI Score with the Essential allowances:
| Allowance | Trial |
|---|---|
| Credits | 150 |
| Websites | 1 |
| Markets | 1 |
| AI providers | 3 |
| Questions to Tactics AI per calendar month | 30 |
| Saved reports | 1, delivered monthly or quarterly |
| Team seats, Whitelabel, MCP servers | Not included |
You use credits to run your monitoring. One credit equals one of your own prompts with one AI provider in one run. The KI Score measurement itself doesn’t use any credits.
Note: On Essential, your market’s KI Score is measured once a month. During the 30-day trial, you’ll therefore usually see at most one value, and it still counts as preliminary. If the same market is already measured weekly because another customer on a weekly plan uses it, you may see more values.
While the trial is active, the plan area under Einstellungen → Billing (Settings → Billing) shows the status Testphase (Trial). If you have already canceled, it shows Gekündigt zum (Canceled as of) followed by the end date instead.
After 30 days
Unless you cancel, your subscription automatically continues as a paid Essential plan after the trial: €468 a year (€39 per month) with yearly billing, or €45 a month with monthly billing, plus VAT in both cases. You chose the billing interval when you started the trial; you can change it in the Stripe customer portal. You’ll find the current terms on the plans page.
If you don’t want to continue, cancel before the trial ends. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, which during the trial means the end of the 30 days. After that, your workspace becomes read-only: no more measurements run. Your data is kept, but you can’t view it without an active subscription.
Switching plans during the trial
If you switch plans during the trial, the trial ends immediately. From then on, the new plan applies as a regular paid plan. There’s no second trial later, not even if you switch back to Essential.
