Does KI Score influence what AI systems say about your brand?

KI Score measures and analyzes AI answers but doesn't pass brand facts to AI systems, and it shows you where you can take action yourself.

This article explains what KI Score does with your brand details and what it doesn't do. You'll also learn which reports show you where you can take action yourself.

The short answer

No. KI Score is a measurement tool. It asks AI systems questions, stores their answers, and analyzes them. KI Score doesn't send brand content to AI systems to change their answers. What ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other systems say about your brand depends on the information those systems draw on, not on anything you set in KI Score.

What KI Score measures

Its queries serve measurement only. KI Score analyzes them in two places:

  • KI Score: For your market, KI Score measures how often and in which position your brand is named in the answers, compared with the other brands in the same market.
  • Monitoring: Using your own prompts, KI Score measures your mention rate, citation rate, and brand sentiment (whether the AI recommends your brand, mentions it factually, or criticizes it), among other metrics. You can read the full answers under Responses.

KI Score uses your brand name, aliases, and domain to recognize your brand and your domain in these answers. The brand description from onboarding serves as the basis for suggestions. None of these details is meant to steer what AI systems answer.

No fact base for AI systems

KI Score has no area where you store facts about your brand to be passed on to AI systems. KI Score also doesn't check statements in AI answers for accuracy, and there's no score for how factually accurate the answers are.

If you want to know whether an AI describes your brand correctly, read the stored answers under Responses and judge them yourself.

Where you can take action

You influence AI answers through your own website and through the sources AI systems draw on. KI Score shows you where that effort may pay off:

  • The Lücken (Gaps) tab in the Quellen in deinem Markt (Sources in your market) card on the KI-Score page: external sources that back a competitor more often than your brand, in at least two answers. Note that this selection doesn't prove your brand is missing from those websites.
  • Sources: which domains and URLs the AI answers in your monitoring cite, and which type each belongs to, such as review site, directory, or news.
  • Fanouts: which web searches the AI models run while answering your prompts. Search texts currently come from ChatGPT, Copilot, Grok, Claude, and DeepSeek.
  • Site Health: the KI-Readiness check shows whether AI systems can technically fetch, read, and cite your website. It isn't a measure of visibility, but it is a prerequisite for it.
  • Erwähnungslücke (Mention gap) in the prompts table under Prompts: the gap between your mention rate and that of the most frequently mentioned tracked competitor, in percentage points. A negative value points to prompts where that competitor is mentioned more often than your brand.

You'll see whether your changes work in later monitoring runs and KI Score measurements. There's no guarantee that AI systems will change their answers as a result.
