Choosing AI providers for your monitoring

Which AI providers you can choose in the schedule, how many your plan allows, and how your selection affects credit usage.

Last updated 23 days ago

For each website, the schedule sets which AI providers answer your monitoring prompts. This article covers which providers are available, how many your plan allows, how to change your selection, and what it means for your credits.

Available AI providers

KI Score offers eight AI providers. The dashboard labels them as follows:

  • “ChatGPT”
  • “Google AI Overview”
  • “Perplexity”
  • “Gemini”
  • “Copilot”
  • “Grok”
  • “Claude”
  • “DeepSeek”

ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, and Copilot are approximations of the respective interfaces. To learn how KI Score queries the providers, see How KI Score queries ChatGPT, Perplexity, and others. The searches you see under Fanouts are only provided by ChatGPT, Copilot, Grok, Claude, and DeepSeek.

New websites start with ChatGPT and Google AI Overview. The selection applies per website and only to your monitoring. Your KI Score is measured independently and isn't affected by this setting.

How many providers your plan allows

Plan AI providers per website
Essential 3
Advanced 3
Premium 5
Enterprise all 8

You decide which of the eight providers to use. In the schedule, the info icon next to KI-Anbieter (AI providers) tells you how many providers your plan lets you choose. Next to it, you see how many you've selected, for example “2 von 8” (2 of 8). For the current plan overview, see the plans page.

Changing providers

  1. Select the website at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Open Zeitplan (Schedule) in the sidebar.
  3. In the KI-Anbieter section, click a provider's icon to select or deselect it. Hover over the icon to see the provider's name. Selected providers show a check mark.
  4. Click Zeitplan speichern (Save schedule). The confirmation dialog shows the new cost per measurement and roughly per month.
  5. Confirm with Kostenlos speichern (Save for free).

At least one provider must be selected. Once you reach your plan's limit, the remaining providers show a lock, and hovering over them displays the note “Tariflimit erreicht” (plan limit reached). To switch, deselect a provider first, then add another one.

Note: Automatic runs only use the saved selection. An unsaved selection is used by Einmal messen (Measure once) for that one measurement only, and your schedule stays unchanged. That way, you can try out a provider without changing your schedule.

After a downgrade

If your new plan allows fewer providers than you've selected, your selection stays saved. Runs, however, only query as many providers as the plan allows. The schedule names these providers directly under KI-Anbieter, for example “Läufe fragen bis zu einem Upgrade nur ChatGPT, Google AI Overview und Perplexity ab. Deine übrige Auswahl bleibt gespeichert.” (Until an upgrade, runs only query ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, and Perplexity. The rest of your selection stays saved.) Once your plan allows enough providers again, KI Score goes back to using your full selection.

Effect on credits

One credit equals one prompt queried with one AI provider in one run. A run therefore costs the number of active prompts times the number of selected providers (at most as many as your plan allows). Each additional provider increases the cost of every run by the number of your active prompts.

For example, with 10 active prompts a run costs 20 credits with two providers and 30 credits with three. If your schedule runs weekly on one day, that's 4 or 5 runs a month and therefore 80 to 100 or 120 to 150 credits, respectively.

The schedule shows what a run with your selection costs before it starts: on the Einmal messen button and in the “Zeitplan speichern?” (Save schedule?) dialog. Saving itself costs no credits; credits are only deducted when a run is carried out.

Tip: If your credits are running low, reduce the number of providers or active prompts. More credits come only with the next billing period or a larger plan.
