AI visibility in the 2027 budget: what work are you funding?

GEO comes up in a budget meeting. It might mean a measurement tool, a technical review, a new guide or maintaining public company profiles. That is too vague for a decision.

Start with a bounded assignment

Write down the questions the work should answer. Does the brand appear in relevant provider questions? Are product details accurate? Which pages do the examined answers cite?

That creates an initial scope: select questions, collect answers, review findings and implement a limited set of corrections. The work needs an owner and time. A software licence does not do it by itself.

Separate three kinds of cost

Measurement: Setup, recurring queries and analysis, including how many results the team can actually review.

Implementation: Technical corrections and changes to existing pages. The first useful task may be here before new content is commissioned.

Editorial work and maintenance: Filling information gaps and keeping important public facts current. Set the scope and responsibility.

Schedule a first review. Which findings were addressed, what remains open, and which observations are needed next?

Not every project can demonstrate additional revenue within a few weeks. Avoid selling it with that promise. An initial budget can instead establish the measurement setup and clarify important information gaps. The decision to expand can then be based on what the team learned.
