Why don't you see any answers after onboarding?
The first monitoring run starts on its own after onboarding; learn when your first answers arrive and what to do if none appear.
Last updated 23 days ago
Right after onboarding, the pages under Sichtbarkeit (Visibility) often don't show any answers or metrics yet. That's expected: answers only exist once the first monitoring run has taken place, and that run takes some time. This article explains when the run happens, how to see its progress, and what to do if no answers arrive.
Short answer
As soon as onboarding is complete and your plan is booked, KI Score automatically starts a first monitoring run. A run sends your active prompts to the selected AI providers; for new websites, these are “ChatGPT” and “Google AI Overview”. This first run costs credits too. The answers appear as soon as the AI providers have responded. Until then, there's nothing for the dashboard to show.
At the same time, the first KI-Readiness analysis of your website starts as well. It doesn't cost any credits.
Seeing the progress of the first run
While a run is in progress, the sidebar shows Messung läuft (Measurement running) instead of Zeitplan (Schedule).
- Click Messung läuft in the sidebar.
- In the dialog, read the progress under Messung läuft, for example “12 von 24 Abfragen abgeschlossen” (12 of 24 queries completed).
When the run is done, the dashboard shows “Lauf abgeschlossen. Ergebnisse sind da.” (Run completed. Results are in.) and the entry is called Zeitplan again. Answers that a provider doesn't deliver within 24 hours count as failed. You get the credits for them back.
If no run has started
No run starts in these cases:
- No active prompts: Without prompts, there's nothing to measure. Add prompts as described in Adding your own prompts and using suggestions.
- Plan not booked yet: The first run only starts once your plan is booked. Without an active subscription, your workspace is read-only.
- Not enough credits: If your balance doesn't cover the run, it doesn't start. To learn what happens then, see What happens when you run out of credits?
- Website above the website limit: If your workspace has more websites than your plan includes, the extra ones aren't measured.
If a run wasn't started, the bell in the Scoreboard usually shows the notification “Messung übersprungen” (Measurement skipped) with the reason. To learn more, see Reading notifications in the Scoreboard.
When the next runs happen
Automatic measuring is turned on for new websites, by default weekly on Mondays at around 6 a.m. (Europe/Berlin). To see the exact time:
- Select the website you want at the top of the sidebar. The schedule always applies to the selected website.
- Click Zeitplan (Schedule) in the sidebar.
- Read the line “Nächste Messung” (Next measurement). It shows the date and time in Berlin time.
Each website has its own fixed minute. In addition, KI Score checks every 15 minutes which runs are due. A run can therefore start a few minutes after the time shown.
Note: A scheduled run only starts if the website has active prompts and your credit balance covers the run. If the Automatisch messen (Measure automatically) switch is off, no runs are scheduled until you turn it on and save with Zeitplan speichern (Save schedule).
Measuring right away with “Einmal messen”
If you don't want to wait for the next scheduled time, start a run yourself:
- Click Zeitplan (Schedule) in the sidebar.
- Check the selection under KI-Anbieter (AI providers). It applies to this measurement even if you don't save the schedule.
- Click Einmal messen (Measure once). The button also shows how many credits this run costs.
- Confirm in the “Messung starten?” (Start measurement?) dialog with Für … Credits starten (Start for … credits).
A run started with Einmal messen doesn't replace a scheduled run. Your next scheduled time stays in place. While a measurement is already running for the website, you can't start a second one.
If the schedule shows “Keine aktiven Prompts. Es wird kein Lauf gestartet.” (No active prompts. No run will be started.), Einmal messen stays disabled. In that case, add prompts first. For costs, failures, and refunds, see Starting a monitoring run right away.
Where results appear
You'll find a run's results in the Sichtbarkeit (Visibility) group in the sidebar:
- Scoreboard: an overview of all your monitoring metrics.
- Prompts: metrics for each prompt. Before the first run, a prompt's detail view shows “Noch keine Messdaten” (No measurement data yet).
- Responses: the stored AI answers.
- Sources: the sources cited in the answers.
- Fanouts: the web searches the models ran while answering. Only ChatGPT, Copilot, Grok, Claude, and DeepSeek provide search texts, so with the default providers, only ChatGPT does.
- Competitors: your tracked competitors, plus other brands the AI names in its answers.
- Rankings: a ranking based on the analyzed answers.
For Rankings and for the discovered competitors under Competitors, KI Score runs an additional analysis on each answer. This happens automatically but can finish a little later than the answers themselves. The notice “X von Y Antworten analysiert” (X of Y answers analyzed) shows the progress.
KI Score and monitoring run separately
Monitoring measures your own prompts on your schedule and uses credits. Your KI Score, on the other hand, comes from a separate market measurement for each market and doesn't cost any credits. The info icon next to the schedule's title puts it this way: “Der KI-Score wird unabhängig davon gemessen.” (The KI Score is measured independently.)
So you don't need to start a monitoring run to get your KI Score, and your monitoring prompts don't change your KI Score. To learn when your first KI Score appears, see Understanding your first KI Score.
